Forklift Codes, Capacities & Uses

Forklift F1

Fee: R1500 • Duration: 5 days

Description: Standard counterbalance forklift used in warehouses and factories. Capacities typically range from 1.5t to 3.5t depending on the model. Ideal for pallet handling, loading/unloading trucks and racking operations.

fORKLIFT F2

Fee: R1700 • Duration: 5 days

Description: This is a little bigger than F1 and is used for racking and high stacking. Typical lift capacities from 3t to 7,5t, with high lift heights. Common in distribution centres and cold stores.

Forklift F3 — Rough Terrainr

Fee:From R2500 • Duration: 5 days

Description: Rough terrain forklifts offer extended reach and off-road capability. Capacities vary (7,5t–15t+) and are used on construction, agriculture and outdoor yards for loading, placing and material handling where traction and stability are needed.

Forklift F4 — Industrial Heavy Lift / High Capacity Forklift

Fee: From R4500 • Duration: 5 days

Description: High-capacity industrial forklifts (counterbalance or multi-directional) for heavy plant yards, steelworks and ports. Capacities above 15t depending on configuration. Used for heavy lifting, spreader-bar handling and specialised load movements.

Course Curriculum — What We Train

  • Operator safety, PPE, manual handling & hazard awareness
  • Pre-start walk-around inspections and daily maintenance
  • Load centre, capacity charts and safe stacking techniques
  • Maneuvering: reverse, turning, ramp work and stacking in aisles
  • Attachments: clamp, rotator, spreader handling where applicable
  • Site-specific traffic management and banksman communication
  • Practical assessments and accredited competency certification

Entry Requirements & PPE

  • Basic literacy and ability to follow instructions
  • Fit for 5 days of practical training (standing, climbing in/out of cabs)
  • PPE: steel-toe boots, hi-vis vest, hard hat and gloves
  • Company-sponsored learners should provide authorisation letter
