Ellena’s Level 1 First Aid course equips learners to preserve life and minimise harm until advanced medical help arrives. Training is blended: concise theory, demonstrations and scenario-based practicals.
What is Level 1 First Aid?
Basic life-saving and injury management skills for workplace responders. Covers primary survey, CPR for adults, casualty airway management, bleeding control, shock management, fractures, burns and basic hygiene and infection control.
Course Details — Level 1 (3 days)
- Duration: 3 days

Day 1 — Fundamentals & Primary Survey
- Introduction to first aid principles and legal responsibilities
- Scene safety, PPE, and infection control
- Primary survey: DRSABCD (Danger, Response, Send for help, Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Defibrillation)
- Basic airway management and recovery position
Day 2 — CPR, AED & Major Bleeding
- Adult CPR practical and rhythm recognition
- AED use: safe application and shock protocols
- Control of severe bleeding: direct pressure, tourniquet principles, haemostatic dressings
- Shock recognition and initial management
Day 3 — Trauma, Burns, Fractures & Scenarios
- Assessment and management of fractures and dislocations
- Burn assessment and appropriate first aid dressings
- Spinal precautions and safe casualty movement
- Practical scenarios combining skills and incident reporting
- Assessment, feedback and certificate issuance
