What is a Cherry Picker (MEWP)?

A cherry picker or MEWP is an elevated work platform used to lift personnel safely to heights for maintenance, installation and inspection. It includes boom-type and scissor-type platforms. Proper operator training is essential to control stability, swing, outreach and rescue.

Training Requirements

Minimum age 18. Basic literacy. Medically fit for working at heights. Bring ID and safety shoes. For certificate renewal, present previous certificate and ID.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you supply PPE?
Basic PPE is supplied where required. Trainees should bring their own harness if possible.

Is medical clearance required?
Fitness for working at heights is required; medical may be requested for some client sites.

Can this be done onsite?

How long is the certificate valid?
Certificate validityis two (2) years, the operator should then doa refresher course. Refresher training is available.

Do you offer rescue training?
Yes rescue and emergency lowering modules are included in the practical assessment.
