What is a Grader and What Does it Do?
A grader (motor grader) is a construction machine with a long adjustable blade used to create flat surfaces, finish-grade roads, set crossfalls and create drainage profiles. Graders are essential in road construction, maintenance, site preparation and precision finishing.
Common Uses
- Final trimming and levelling of road surfaces
- Creating crossfall and camber for drainage
- Cutting batters and shoulders, and clearing ruts
- Preparing base layers for paving and asphalt
